Our company

Klöckner & Co is the largest producer-independent steel and metal distributor and one of the leading steel service center companies in the European and American markets combined. With a turnover of 6.7 million tons, we achieved sales of around €7.1 billion in fiscal 2011.

Our core business is the warehousing and distribution of steel and non-ferrous metals as well as the operation of steel service centers. More than 170,000 customers are supplied through around 290 distribution and service locations by about 11,400 employees in more than 20 countries.

In addition to companies in the construction industry as well as machinery and mechanical engineering, we serve customers in the automotive and chemical industry, in shipbuilding and in fields of household appliances, consumer goods and energy.

We offer an extensive range of products, divided into the following categories:

In some countries, our range includes also special products for building services, plumbing, roof and wall construction and water supply.

Apart from unprocessed materials and pre-products, we offer extensive services such as cutting and splitting of steel strips, cutting to length, flame-cutting, CNC turning/milling and surface treatment.

As an integrated partner for value creation, we offer our customers total warehousing as well as pre-processing and further processing at the first and second production stages. We furthermore support our customers with competent advice on all technical, warehousing, logistics and material management issues.

Global reach – local presence

International customers with production locations in various can rely on a very special service: a specific contact person is available for them around the clock, through which they can order all the products and services from us – tailored for each individual plant and always just in time.

In addition, we provide operation of consignment warehouses. With the aid of a country-specific analysis, we review business processes, material consumption, work procedures and logistics. Following this, a country-spanning supply concept is prepared.
