Achtfache Gewinnzunahme Alchemia S.A hat im Jahre 2011 118,4 Millionen PLN verdient.

Einkünfte der Kapitalgruppe Alchemia S.A stiegen im Jahre 2011 bis zu 1 155 Millionen PLN und waren fast doppelt so groß als im Jahre 2010. Der Gewinn netto hat man auf dem Niveau von 118,4 Millionen PLN erwirtschaftet, d.h. um 700% mehr als im Vorjahr (14,7 Millionen PLN).
Wir haben die größten Umsätze in der Geschichte unserer Gesellschaft und einer der besten Ergebnisse auf dem operativem Niveau auf dem und Netto - Niveau notieren können. Die mir Konsequenz realisierte Strategie für den Bau einer starken Stahlgruppe bringt erste Ergebnisse – Inverstoren und Aktionäre sollten zufrieden sein - resümiert Karina Wcsiubiak-Hanko, Präsident des Vorstandes Alchemia S.A.
Im 4. Quartal 2011 hat die Gesellschaft 55,5 Millionen PLN bei Einkünften in Höhe von 308,5 Millionen PLN verdient. Das ist die Fortsetzung der immer besser werdenden Ergebnissen ab Anfang des Jahres. Der letzte Quartal war auch der erste nach einer Serie von Übernahmen und nach der umfangsreichen Restrukturierung. Operationskosten waren 3,5 mal niedriger als im gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres.
Das Jahr 2011 war die Zeit der Änderungen in der Gruppe. Wirklichkeit wurde das, wonach wir seit Jahren strebten – wir haben eine konsolidierte Stahlgruppe in Polen gebaut. Wir haben mit Zentralisierung der Verkaufsabteilung begonnen, haben Kosten gesunken, wir haben unsere Aktiva restrukturiesiert. 4. Quartal 2011 in der Kapitalgruppe Alchemia S.A
Rohren Segment
Die letzten 3 Monate 2011 waren eine gute Zeitperiode für die Rohrgruppe Alchemia S.A (Huta Batory, Rurexpol und Walcownia Rur Andrzej). Die größten Umsätze im Export hat Alchemia S.A mit deutschen Kontrahenten (40 Millionen PLN) und italienischen (über 20 Millionen) feststellen können. Man hat eine dynamische Entwicklung auf dem amerikanischen Markt sehen können, wo die Kapitalgruppe Alchemia S.A. einen Verkauf von über 7 Millionen PLN erzielen konnte.
Die größte Interesse im 4. Quartal hat man seitens unserer Kundschaft an Leitungsrohren und an Kesselrohren des ersten Grades gezeigt. Die Interesse an Casings und Kesselrohren ist auch deutlich gestiegen. Das alles erlaubt uns, mit großem Optimismus nicht nur auf das kommende Jahr 2012 aber auch auf die weitere Zukunft in Hinblick auf neue Bestellungen im Bereich Energieindustrie und in Hinblick auf Suchen des Schiefergesteingases in Polen zu blicken.
Im 4. Quartal 2011 hat Walcownia Rur Andrzej (Rohrwalzwerk Andrzej) die nötigen Bedingungen zur Produktion der Rohren nach API 5L erfüllt und ein Audit erfolgreich abgeschlossen, zur Zeit wartet man auf eine Zuerkennung des dazu gehörigen Zertifikates. Die unternommenen Schritte sollten die Position des Walzwerkes besonders in der Energiebranche stärken.
Alchemia S.A erwartet einen steigenden Zuwachs von Bestellungen in der Energetik- Industrie, zu der auch Kesselrohren, Casings, und Leistungsohren aus Huta Batory, Rurexpol, und WRA gehören, mit einer Perspektive bis mindestens zu 2020.
Huta Bankowa
Huta Bankowa hat im 4. Quartal 2011 einen Absatzvolumen von 14 Millionen PLN erreicht und somit 2 Mal die Voraussetzungen des Bussinesplanes überstiegen.
Das Ergebnis hat man trotzt schwacher Nachfrage für Rundstäbe in letzten 3 Monaten des Jahres 2011 erreicht. Der Bestellungseingang bei Huta Bankowa blieb aber stabil.
Ähnlich wir bei Rohren haben die gebuchten Aufträge eine sehr große Rolle gespielt. Im 4. Quartal hat Huta Bankowa sehr große Bestellungen für Rundstäbe für Skandinavien buchen können (Schweden und Norwegen). Im Rahmen von Bänder/Räder sowohl für Straßenbahnen als auch für Züge hat Huta Bankowa außer Lieferungen an meisten Ländern im Osteuropa (die Ukraine, Kasachstan, Usbekistan, Georgien, China) und im Westen wie Deutschland, Ungarn, Rumänien, Holland, Belgien Bestellungen aus weitentfernten Ländern wie z.B. Ghana buchen können.
Im 4. Quartal 2011 hat Huta Bankowa wichtige technologische Investitionen vorgenommen . Man hat eine Drehbank für Bearbeitung von Walzen im Walzwerk gekauft und die Stellen für Defektoscopeuntersuchungen modernisiert.
Kuznia Batory (Schmiede Batory)
Die wichtigsten Faktoren, die einen Einfluss auf Verbesserung der Wirtschaftlichkeit im 4. Quartal 2011 bei Kuznia Batory hatten, waren vor allem bessere Absatzpreise in Bezug auf Erhöhung von Rohmaterialpreisen und Schwächung der Zloty.
Im 4. Quartal hat man eine größere Anfrage in Bezug auf Schmiedestücke für Rüstungsindustrie merken können. Neben Rundstäben waren diese die im Jahre 2011 am meisten gekauften Produkte bei Kuznia Batory. Die Tendenz kann so weiter im Jahre 2012 eingehalten werden.
Die Schmiede bringt noch nicht die volle Leistung (ca. 1000 t monatlich), was mit größerer Anfrage für Schmiedestücke verbunden ist, für denen der Produktionsprozess länger ist.

Eightfold increase in profit Alchemia earned PLN 118.4 million in 2011

The revenues of Alchemia Capital Group rose last year to PLN 1 155 million and were almost two times higher than in 2010. The generated net profit reached PLN 118.4 million or over 700% more than last year (PLN 14.7 million).

- We noted the highest turnover in the history of the company and one of the best results in terms of operational and net profit. The consistently pursued strategy of building a strong pipe group is bearing its first fruits. Investors and shareholders should have a reason for satisfaction – says Karina Wściubiak–Hankó, President of Alchemia.

In the 4th quarter the company earner PLN 55.5 million with revenues at PLN 108.5 million. This is a continuation of the improvement in performance observed since the beginning of 2011. However, the last three months of 2011 were the first quarter of the Group’s operations following the completion of a series of takeovers and a broad restructuring. Operating expenses in 2011 were three-and-a-half-times lower than in the corresponding period in the previous year.

- The year 2011 was a time of unprecedented changes in the Group; something that we have worked at for many years became reality – we have built a consolidated steel group in Poland. We started centralizing our sales division, cut costs, restructured our assets. We have achieved the expected synergies – adds Wściubiak-Hankó.

Q4 in Alchemia Capital Group

PIPE SEGMENT
The last three months of 2011 were a good period for Alchemia’s pipe group (Huta Batory - steelworks, Rurexpol – steelworks and Walcownia Rur Andrzej – rolling mill). Alchemia noted the highest turnover with German (almost PLN40 mn) and Italaian (over PLN 20 m) contractors. Turnover with the American market increased rapidly as Alchemia Capital Group placed 7 million worth of pipes in the US.
In the 4th quarter the biggest demand was observed for line and 1st degree boiler pipes. The interest in pipes in the segments of drill and boiler pipes in the highest degree of processing grew significanlty. This allows the company to look with optimism not only on 2012, but also on the following years in terms of orders in the area of energy and shale gas exploration.
In the fourth quarter of 2011, after several years of efforts Walcownia Rur Andrzej fulfilled the requirements necessary to produce pipes according to the API 5L standard, successfully passed the audit and is currently waiting for the certificate. The taken measures should result in the future appreciation of WRA’s position on the energy pipe market.
Alchemia is expecting a jump in the number of orders from the energy sector, to which the full range of high-alloy boiler, drilling and line tubes manufactured by Huta Batora, Rurexpol and WRA is dedicated, with a perspective to 2020.

HUTA BANKOWA
In the fourth quarter of 2011 sales results of Huta Bankowa reached PLN 14 million, more than doubling the business plan guidelines. This result was achieved despite the fact that in the last three months of 2011 the demand for round bars was decreasing steadily. The level of orders for this product remained stable in Huta Bankowa.
As in the pipe segment, a large role was played by newly-acquired contracts. In Q4 Huta Bankowa acquired large orders for supplies of round bars the Scandinavian construction sector (Sweden and Norway). In the field of rim supplies, both railway and tram, in addition to supplying most countries in the Eastern market (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, China), holding a stable position on European market (Germany, Hungary, Romania, Holland, Belgium), Huta Bankowa acquired also new contracts from distant, new markets like Ghana.
In Q4 2011 Huta Bankowa carried out important technological investments. A calibre lathe for processing metallurgical rollers was purchased for the Rolling Mill Department and the rim defectoscopy analysis unit was modernised in the Forged-Rolled Rings Department.

KUŹNIA BATORY
In Q4 2011 the key enabler for improvement of Kuźnia Batory’s results were higher sales prices due to increased batch prices and weakening of the zloty.
In the fourth quarter Kuźnia Batory noted a significant growth in demand for forgings after electro-slag remelting for the defence industry. They were, next to round bars, the most often purchased products of Kuźnia Batory in Q4 2011. This trend is likely to continue throughout 2012.
The forge still does not use its full potential (approximately 1000 tonnes per month). This is associated with the increased demand for shaped forgings, whose production cycle is extended.

Shale gas increases sales

Drill pipes contracts worth PLN50 million

Rurexpol, part of Alchemia Capital group, the only in Poland producer of seamless drilling pipes, has increased exports enough to offset domestic sales. This means that more and more Polish Rurexpol-made drilling pipes are being sold abroad from the beginning of the year.

Individual contracts for the supply of drilling pipes amounted to several million zlotys on average this year. In total, Rurexpol has sold pipes for over PLN 50 million, half of which were came from export sales.

Alchemia Group sends its drilling pipes to the markets of the European Union and Poland. It is also present on the markets of the United States, Canada and Middle East, serving mainly the gas and oil extraction sector. In addition pipes manufactured by Alchemia’s production plant – Rurexpol, are used in geothermal and water wells, and in salt extraction.

Rurexpol carries out on-going supplies for German, Dutch, Austrian, Romanian, Czech and Hungarian companies. This year, it has signed several key agreements for the sale of drilling pipes, i.e. with Dutch
Deep Drill and German Iteco.

Shale gas – a new chance

The key recipient of Rurexpol’s drilling pipes on the Polish market is a company being the leader in the natural gas market. Recently, Alchemia has won a contract for supplying drilling pipes to Polish Oil and Gas Company PGNiG and other entities operating in this relatively young and developing market of shale gas extraction. The number of issued state permits for the search of natural gas in Poland paired with the signals coming from the foreign market environment, that is foreign entities operating in this industry, Alchemia looks with optimism to the coming years in this sector. Especially that the carried out investments and Rurexpol’s existing production facilities secure the customers’ present needs, and, taking into account the technological development in this sector, will continue to do so in the future.

After the first three quarters of 2011, Alchemia Steel group recorded nearly PLN 847.5 million revenues from sales, which represents an almost 73% growth as compared with the respective period of the previous years. Its consolidated net profit after three quarters of this year has more than tripled (y-o-y) reaching PLN 62.9 million.

Q3 results confirm successful consolidation of Alchemia Group

In the nine months of 2011, steelmaking Capital Group Alchemia, gained nearly PLN 847.5 million in revenues, an increase of over 73% as compared to the respective period of the previous year. Consolidated net profit after three quarters of this year more than tripled (y-o-y) reaching PLN 62.9 million.

The past quarter was also successful in terms of operating profit growth pace at Alchemia Capital Group. In Q3 2011 it amounted to PLN 80 million, which represents an increase of over 290% as compared with the respective period of the previous year. This is a continuation of a very good first half of this year, when the company noted a fivefold increase as compared to the respective period in 2010.

“In the first half of this year, we completed the acquisition phase and we spent the third quarter on implementing solutions that will allow the Group to fully benefit from the synergies. We treat the very good financial results as confirmation that our strategy is working, but it is also a stimulus for further hard work” – says Karina Wściubiak-Hankó, CEO of Alchemia S.A. “In the last quarter we have modified the billets order system and carrying out environmental tests, which is already yielding savings. However, not all our companies are fully using their capacity, therefore we continue to strive to obtain as many new orders as possible” – she adds.

In Q3 2011, the sales of Alchemia Capital Group increased by 59.5% as compared to the previous year (reaching PLN 294 million). Operating profit increased by 156% to PLN 27.7 million, and net profit grew by 101.8% to PLN 23.9 million. During this period, the gross margin on sales grew from 12 to 16%.

On 9 November 2011, the Extraordinary General Meeting of Alchemia SA passed a resolution on the merger of Alchemia with its subsidiaries: Huta Batory, Rurexpol and Walcownia Rur Andrzej (formal consolidation is dependent on the decision of the court). This is a part of the restructuring and the way to further lower the operating costs of the Capital Group.

PIPE SEGMENT
The consistently implemented consolidation policy of Alchemia’s pipe group (Alchemia, Huta Batory, Rurexpol and Walcowna Rur Andrzej) made it possible to minimize the effects of lower demand in the past quarter. The strategy of offering a full range of pipes manufactured by three plants by one sales team handling all the company’s sales, provides customers with fast and comprehensive service. Measurable effects of the adopted strategy are the achieved financial results. At the moment, the central sales department which manages customer service is already running. In case of Walcownia Rur Andrzej the takeover of sales structures is carried out successively since October of this year.

The immediate factor influencing the increase in sales, especially export, in the third quarter, was the boost of purchases by Spanish, Italian and American contractors. Alchemia Capital Group has also entered new markets including: Ireland and the United Arab Emirates. Exports in the aforementioned new directions and the existing significant sales markets – Germany and the Netherlands were a major factor in the turnover of Huta Batory (over 80%). In case of Rurexpol, the share of export and domestic sales was in balance.
As a result of the product synergy effect, through allocations of pipes in common sizes produced by Huta Batory and Rurexpol, the productivity of both rolling mills increased without additional financial outlays. In the third quarter, the greatest demand in the sector of seamless steel pipes was for transport, construction and drilling pipes.

A sign of maintaining the strong position of the Group in the area of construction was the realization of supplies for the construction of the stadium in Rzeszów, and deliveries of high-alloy boiler tubes for key Polish customers. While the sales of the company’s seamless pipes dwindled in October, the final months of the year should be better.

HUTA BANKOWA
Despite the declining demand for round bars in the third quarter of 2011, the level of orders for these products remained high in Huta Bankowa. The upward trend in orders for railway wheel tyres, which was observed in the previous quarter, maintained mainly on the domestic market. Sales of heat-treated rods continued to increase.
Huta Bankowa maintained its leading position on the Polish market, especially in the segment of rims and rings. The number of new orders for railway wheel tyres systematically increased. However, a downward trend in the orders for long products from domestic and foreign markets was noted in Q3. The level of orders for forged-rolled products was stable. The influx of cheap materials from Far Eastern markets, as well as lowering prices for finished materials by the competitors remain a threat for the upcoming quarter. The threat of the so-called second wave of the crisis caused a slump in the number of orders, particularly from the German market.

KUŹNIA BATORY
Demand for forged products remained stable throughout Q3. Kuźnia Batory, has kept its output and sales unchanged during Q3 from the first two quarters of 2011, despite the rising cost of billets in the last three months. The plant benefited from the weakening Polish zloty against the euro and dollar.

During third quarter Kuźnia Batory sold mainly rough-turned rods from coal-manganese steel to Germany and alloy steel rods with very high durability and resilience. Additionally, the last quarter brought positive results of an audit re-certifying the quality management system ISO 9001 and the extension of the certificate to 17 October 2014. The next quarters should see an increase in exports. The company expects further orders for railway axles. It consistently strivers to increase the use of its capacity..

New type of steel made by Alchemia

Huta Batory steelworks, a subsidiary of Alchemia SA, has produced, on special order, a new kind of alloy steel. The product has very high metallurgical purity and semi-finished products made of it have high mechanical properties.

“The biggest advantage of Alchemia SA is its unique flexibility. We are able to adjust our offer to everyone, even the most demanding customers. We have not only the technological background necessary to introduce innovations, but also the courage and willingness to take on new challenges,” says Marek Misiakiewicz, Vice-President and Director for Investment, Production and Technology at Alchemia SA. “We hope that the new kind of steel will open new markets for us,” he adds.

The new steel*, owing to the 9% nickel content, has a high ductility and toughness (resistance load) in low and very low temperatures – even up to minus 190°C. The specialized production process involves melting the steel in an electric arc furnace (EAF) and vacuum degassing in a VAD device. The obtained large forging ingots weighing about 12 tonnes are designed for the production of flanges and valves which are used in the manufacture of pressure vessels for liquid and compressed gases such as ethylene and liquid nitrogen. These products are used, i.e. in the following industries: mining, for further mechanical processes, and for the construction of pipes with high resistance parameters.

The new product is not the only factor distinguishing Huta Batory’s offer. As one of the few manufacturers in the world, it produces pipes in P91 steel grade for the energy industry, where they are used for the construction of devices operating in temperatures up to +650°C.
